Against my better judgement

Hi, folks. I’ve recently started actually using my Twitter account, somewhat against my better judgement. I’ll be tweeting about science, feminism, and games – among other things. I can’t promise I’ll be interesting, but it’s hard to be compelling in 140 characters or less.

  1. Twitter is a breeding ground for trolls since it actually discourages thoughtful discourse in favor of snarky one-liners. Good luck, but it’s hard to seriously discuss complex issues in 140 characters or less; that’s like asking a presidential candidate to explain his or her views on healthcare in 30 seconds or less.

    • Oh I’m not saying this is meant to be a replacement of this blog. However, I find the bandwidth limitations of twitter useful in that it leaves mental bandwidth free for other pursuits, which is the whole reason I quit blogging in the first place.

I’m sure it won’t be hard if you have something compelling to say.
